"My kids deserve the world": How children in the Southeast benefit from guaranteed income
Recent research conducted by Abt Associates highlights the positive impact of guaranteed income pilot programs on the well-being of children and the resilience of families. The study draws on qualitative data from guaranteed income pilot initiatives led by MGI (Mayors for a Guaranteed Income) in four Southern U.S. cities: Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Louisville, KY, and Shreveport, LA.
Just Income GNV announces their move from pilot project to ongoing program.
This marks a significant milestone for Just Income as it continues to impact the lives of formerly incarcerated people in the community. The new disbursements follow a successful pilot year, during which the program demonstrated transformative outcomes, including improved housing stability, resolution of legal fees, reduced probation violations, enhanced employment situations, strengthened familial bonds, and positive effects on physical and mental well-being.
OPEN CALL: in an innovative program, the ReCivitas/NEPAS Institute offers Scholarships and Publication of Articles on "Basic Income for Peace"
Instituto ReCivitas is pleased to announce the launch of the Support, Development and Social Innovation Program, a joint initiative with NEPAS. This program includes the call for the "Basic Income for Peace" Scholarship and the call for submission of articles on the topic.
Universal Basic Income for Peace Scholarship
The scholarship aims to provide financial support, study materials, guidance and outreach to individuals, regardless of academic background or institutional ties, as long as they demonstrate alignment with the scholarship proposal and are subject to situations of violence and human rights violations.
Registration and Criteria
Interested candidates must submit proposals that address their needs and justify their candidacy for the scholarship. There are no formal training requirements, allowing all interested parties, regardless of educational background, to register to compete for the scholarship.
Call for Publication of Independent Studies and Research
In addition to the scholarship, the program is open to contributions of articles related to the theme "Basic Income as a Social Action for Peace". The selected articles will enrich the debate on the preservation of life in times of conflict and war.
Deadlines and Contacts
